3 Steps to make a good website

Website is the face of your business in the digital world. It represents your business and its working. The designing of the website needs a careful planning and must be presentable to grab the user attention and make you stand apart from your competitors.

You can segregate the design on the website under three categories: Purpose, presentation and accessibility.

Purpose

Well, this is the first question to answer. What will be the purpose of your website? What is it going to present? Who will be its target audience? What will be their common language? What will be their educational level? and so on. Once you are clear about these question, the right image of your website will be easier to imagine.

Presentation

Once you are ready, then you need to decide on the presentation part of the website. It can be further categorised under sub heads:

Organisation

Plan what all thing you wish to display on your website. It must not look cluttered. Instead things must be clearly visible and should be well organised.

Colours and fonts

Choose colours and fonts carefully. Every colour has its meaning. The shaded must not be too dark or too light to read. Also the font must be in a readable size. Try not to mix too many colours or leaving it monochrome or juggling with too many font styles.

Graphics

To much images or graphic or no graphics can ruin the purpose of the website. The text and graphics including videos and images must be used optimally for making the website eye-catching and interesting to the users.

Content

It is a crucial aspect of your website. Every word, image, video presented in the form of content must be carefully chosen. It must reflect the business. Copied, irrelevant or impractical word can ruin the purpose of the website and can also lead to being marked as spam. Also ensure that the content is regularly updated to keep the website fresh and active.

Accessibility

A website is good if it is user and search engine friendly. Here are few factors that needs attention while preparing a website.

Navigation and download speed

Too much of scrolling or too less content to fit in a page does not give appealing effect to the users. Similarly, if the website is taking time to download, it loses the interest of the end user. Reasonable use of graphics can help the website to take reasonable time.

Links and social communities

Use hyperlinks to make you website presentable. This not only makes website easier to navigate but also makes it user friendly. The links to social media makes website trusted. Similarly the website must have proper use of keywords and must be updated regularly to keep the searched engine scores high.

Contacts

Lastly, the contact details of the business stating the physical location, phone numbers and email ID gives a personal touch to the website. An option for FAQ or inquiry form adds to this personal touch and makes the business trustworthy and reliable. Once the website is designed, it must be updated regularly to make it available to the end customers and to keep it fresh.
